Steve Clark Tennis Pro
Peak Tennis welcomes our New addition to the coaching staff Steve Clark
While coaching he continued to play futures and men’s open sectional singles and on occasion teaming up with his players winning prestigious open tournaments in Southern California (Wimbledon West, CHOC, Sectionals, etc.) where draws routinely had former world #1 doubles players. Steve was undefeated in Southern California Open Doubles finishing the year #1 with former player and NCAA standout Julian Barham. He is a PTR Professional level instructor and trained at the USA national tennis facility in High Performance coaching.
His players have played the likes of John Isner, Mike and Bob Bryan, Tennis Channel analysts Leif Shirus, Justin Gimlestob etc. His players have not only gone on to playing professionally but coaching collegiately, at clubs, running academies, and as ATP/WTA coaches: one coaches Sloan Stephens and former world #1 junior Claire Liu. Steve also trained many years in Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation (karate) as an E Dan (2nd Degree Midnight blue belt “Black Belt”) where he won several US regional and national tournaments in addition to training in New Zealand and winning internationally in Australia.
From all his years in the tennis industry nationally, he is grateful to have had personal friends such as Grand Slam great Roy Emerson and the late Vic Braden involved in some of his events, in addition to helping his friend Wayne Bryan (father and coach of Mike and Bob Bryan) work with juniors at US Davis Cup and ATP events. He also hosts a podcast show featuring guests like Robin Soderling (former ATP #4), Chris Lewis (former Wimbledon finalist), Djokovic’s strategy coach Craig O’shannessy, Australian Open Director Craig Tiley, sports psychologists, nutritionists etc. You can listen to that podcast on his website CoachSteveClarkPhd.com in addition to reading his blogs on various aspects of the game: mental, dubs, singles, etc.
